ELITE SURGICAL SPECIALISTS – NEW JERSEY SURGEONS
Appendectomy
Appendicitis is a common occurrence which requires removal of the appendix. This procedure is almost always done laparoscopically and often as an out-patient.
Cervical Spine Access
This procedure allows a spine surgeon to safely access the cervical vertebra from the anterior (front) of the neck. This is especially important for protection of the major blood vessels and other delicate structures in the neck. This procedure also includes plastics closure of the neck wound for superior cosmesis.
Lipoma Excision
Lipoma excision is a surgical procedure that removes a lipoma, a benign fatty tissue lump that grows under the skin.
Parathyroidectomy
This is a minimally invasive procedure performed to remove an abnormal parathyroid gland that results in high circulating levels of calcium. This is also done as an out-patient procedure through a 2cm incision.
Parotidectomy
The parotid gland is a salivary gland that often develops both benign and malignant tumors. This approach can be done through a face lift incision for excellent cosmetic healing. Facial nerve monitoring is also employed to prevent injury to the facial nerve.
Pilonidal Cyst Treatment
A pilonidal cyst is a fluid-filled sac that forms under the skin in the lower back.
Thyroidectomy
This procedure is done for removing enlarged thyroid glands and or thyroid glands containing cancerous lesions. This is typically done as an out-patient and can be done through a minimal incision in the neck.
Abdominal Exploration
This is often required for acute abdomen emergencies. Most commonly these result from symptoms of obstruction often caused by prior surgical procedures. This procedure can also be performed safely laparoscopically, which may or may not require a short stay in the hospital.
Advanced Laparoscopy
Advanced laparoscopy is an open surgery where an incision is made in the skin of the abdomen. Advanced laparoscopic surgery is also known as minimally invasive surgery.
Cholecystectomy
Gall bladder disease is quite common and when symptoms of gall stones occur removal of the gallbladder is generally required. This is almost always performed laparoscopically and can often be done as an outpatient as well.
Colon Resection
The most common cause for an emergency colon resection is perforation related to diverticulitis or other more unusual causes. This may require a temporary colostomy or ileostomy. This procedure can be done laparoscopically in select patients.
Diagnostic Laparoscopy
This procedure is intended for the diagnosis of acute abdominal problems. Laparoscopy allows near complete visualization of all intra-abdominal structures and often leads to laparoscopic treatment of the abnormal pathology at the same time.
Hernia Repair
We specialize in repair of both inguinal and ventral/abdominal hernias. Most hernias can be repaired laparoscopically with minimal risk of recurrence and with a high degree of safety. These procedures are also mostly performed as an out-patient.
